DEPUTY COMMISSIONER THANKS VOTERS & POLITICAL PARTIES FOR PEACEFUL POLLING

70.33% voters have cast their vote in the MC elections held at 8 places in district Ludhiana today. It is pertinent to mention that the General elections of Municipal Councils/Nagar Panchayats were held in Khanna, Jagraon, Samrala, Raikot, Doraha, Payal, by election in Ward number 8 (General) of Mullanpur Dakha, and by election in Ward Number 6 of Sahnewal in Ludhiana District.
The polling was done from 8 am to 4 pm today, and a total of 68.72% voters cast their vote in Khanna, 68.47% in Jagraon, 73.96% in Samrala, 73.86% in Raikot, 74.80% in Doraha, 83.09% in Payal, 68.50% in Mullanpur, and 61.16% in Sahnewal.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma thanked the voters and political parties for the peaceful conduct of the elections. He also congratulated the election staff for the smooth conduct of these elections. He said that the counting of votes would be done on 17 February, 2021.
