Ludhiana Administration issues advisory after leopard spotted in Centra Greens Society

Also issues helpline numbers to information about any movement of animal

District Administration Ludhiana on Tuesday has issued an advisory with respect to movement of a leopard in Centra Greens Society on Pakhowal Road, here. Divulging the details, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Gautam Jain said that the forest department has issued a notice of caution for residents of Centra Greens Society and nearby areas after a leopard was spotted a few days ago.

As per advisory issued by the department residents of the areas concerned have been asked to follow certain dos and donts as a safety measure. People were advised not to leave their kids alone, keep their pets in cages, try not to intimidate leopard after seeing it, not to go outside alone at night or venture in poorly lit areas, and avoid crowd building around leopard.

Likewise, the administration has also issued helpline numbers for residents to report any kind of movement of leopard in their reapective areas. The people can contact police control room number 112 or forest range officer at his mobile number 81469-33778. Notably, the department has strengthened efforts to catch leopard at Pakhowal Road, Centra Greens Society, Chabra Colony, Dev Colony, and areas around Sarinh Village.
