The Indian Railways has lost Rs 1,670 crore in freight revenue alone due to farmers' agitation in Punjab. It should be known that this agitation of farmers has been 52 days. As of 16 November, 1,986 passenger trains and 3,090 goods trains have been canceled due to this movement. At the same time, the railways has refused to accept the proposal of the protesting farmers to start only goods trains. This has deepened the crisis. The railways are estimated to lose about 36 crore freight daily due to the agitation.
