Contribution of Sikhs to the UK’ debate in Parliament (watch video)

London (Jan Shakti News)

It was an honour to speak in today's debate on the 'Contribution of Sikhs to the UK'.

As part of National Sikh Awareness and History Month, we have been able to celebrate Sikh achievements and culture, from our second annual 'Turban Awareness Day' to welcoming speakers on 'Guru Nanak and Feminism'.

Despite being a small proportion of the population in the UK, Sikhs contribution to our society is huge. I look forward to more projects recognising the current and historic achievements of Sikhs, including the ongoing National Sikh War Memorial plans and future projects to encourage even more international links, including direct London-Amritsar flights.

With support, the British Sikh community can only go from strength to strength.
