Captain Amarinder Singh Has Revised The 21 Years Old Rule For Soldiers And Families Of The Martyrs.

Chandigarh(B.S SHARMA,RANA SHEIKH DAULAT)The financial assistance given to the families of the soldiers of the state martyred on the border of the country has been increased from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has changed the 21-year-old rule for the families of the martyrs. Recently, 4 soldiers of Punjab have died in a clash with Chinese soldiers in the Galavan Valley. The last rites of two jawans have been performed while the two jawans of Mansa and Sangrur are to be cremated with military honors on Saturday.
Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has revised the amount of assistance to the families of the martyred soldiers. In his Facebook page and a video message,he said that till now the government used to give a government job and financial assistance of 10 to 12 lakh rupees to one of the martyrs' family. This decision was taken in 1999. Now it needs to be changed. Captain Amarinder said that in today's era, the help of 10 lakh rupees is less.In such a situation,the Punjab government has given 50 lakh rupees to the assistance given to the families of the martyrs.He said that other facilities including giving employment to a member of the family will continue to be applicable as before.
