DISTRICT TASK FORCE HOLDS MEETING TO REVIEW VACCINATION PROGRAM

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Wednesday directed the various departments to sensitize their staff members to get inoculated under the Covid vaccination drive to win the war against the pandemic.
Presiding over a meeting of District Task Force, Deputy Commissioner said that in Ludhiana, 36195 healthcare and 24321 frontline workers have so far registered on the Covid portal out of which 18754 and 6099 have been vaccinated by the health teams.
Deputy Commissioner asked District Education Officers (Primary and Secondary) and District Program Officer to start an intensive awareness drive among the teachers and Anganwari workers regarding the importance of the Covid vaccination so that they do not fall prey to any kind of rumour.
He said that none of the people should get mislead and misinformed about the vaccination drive.
He deputed the senior medical officers (SMOs) to organize the sensitization camp in the schools and Anganwari centres to clear all the doubts regarding the Covid vaccine.
Varinder Kumar Sharma said that as the district has been witnessing a spike in Covid cases, it has become important to get Covid shot at the earliest which will help the administration to contain the pandemic effectively.
He added that the vaccine is completely safe and even district has not registered a single case of Adverse Effect Following Immunization (AEFI).
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the health officials to ensure the messages must reach all the registered beneficiaries on the Covid portal so that they do not suffer here and there regarding location and date of session site.
