London, 06 July (Khaira) Conservative MPs Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak announced on Tuesday their resignations as secretary of state for health and social care and chancellor of the exchequer, respectively. This comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson apologised for appointing Chris Pincher to a government role after a misconduct complaint against the MP. Former Downing Street chief of staff Steve Barclay was appointed as health secretary and former education secretary Nadhim Zahawi as chancellor hours following the resignations.
