Two-Member central team express satisfaction over Covid management and inoculation drive

Holds meeting with administration, visits vaccination camps and micro-containment zone

A two-member central team deputed by the Union Health Ministry to support the district administration in managing the fresh surge of Covid infections, on Thursday expressed complete satisfaction over Covid management and execution of the inoculation drive in Ludhiana.

The team held a meeting with the administration in Bachat Bhawan and later took stock of the vaccination drive by visiting two camps organized in Civil Hospital and United Cycle Parts and Manufacturers Association (UCPMA) besides supervised a micro-containment zone to assess the arrangements for restricting the movements for containing surge.

Earlier, the team comprising Deputy Director National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Dr Anubhav Srivastava and Dr Kavita Chaudhary from Dr RML Hospital met Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and convened a meeting attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr Sukhjeevan Kakkar and others. 

A small presentation was also given in the meeting regarding the present status of Covid cases, and effective mechanism and initiatives were taken to curb escalating cases of Covid including strictness against those defying wearing mask, social distancing and other protocols.

Later, the team went to vaccination camps held in civil hospital and UCPMA and oversaw the micro-containment zone set up at Model Gram. The team members also inspected the IDSP Lab in the civil hospital and interacted with the staff there.
