Chandigarh(B.S Sharma & Rana Shekh Dulat) Preparations have been made to start inter-state bus service from Chandigarh. The service will start from 16 September. The UT administration has written to the states informing them to start the bus service from September 16. With this decision, buses from other states will also get approval to enter Chandigarh from the 16th. These buses will be started by adopting standard operating procedure.
Only 50 percent of the passengers will sit in the bus During this time, Chandigarh Transport Undertaking will run buses with 50 percent capacity. The same number of passengers can be installed in the bus to take care of physical distancing. Apart from this, passengers can only board and disembark buses from ISBT-17 and ISBT-43. The bus will not stop anywhere in the Chandigarh area. Tickets will be available only online booking or inside the bus, not over the counter ISBT-17 and 43 will not get tickets at any counter. Only online booking or inside the bus tickets will be available. The passenger in the bus will be seated leaving one seat empty. Also, no one will be allowed to sit in the bus without a mask. The bus would be sanitized every time before the trip. It will be mandatory to have the Arogya Setu app in every passenger's phone
