Dr Baldev Singh joins ISF College of Pharmacy as the Placement Officer

 Also to teach the E.C.S. (English) and do duty as the P.D.O.

Chandigarh, March 16 (Gurkirt Jagraon / Manjinder Gill )  Dr Baldev Singh, who has on his credit a vast record of performance of a wide variety of designations, has, upon appointment, joined the nationally and internationally recognized medical education institution - ISF College of Pharmacy, located at Moga, and affiliated with IKGPTU and MRS Punjab Technical University – in the state of Punjab, as the Placement Officer (EO), ECS (English) and Personality & Professional Development Officer for the Bachelor and the Masters’ or the Post-Graduate degree and the Diploma students. His duty and role will be to conduct the English Communication Skills classes and guide the students for Effective Curriculum Vitae designing and the Job Placement Interviews. With the dynamic and igniting zeal, Dr Baldev Singh has multi-faceted career. This is worth to mention that, commencing from 1989, from the post of a Lecturer in English, he served in his home or the basic Department of Education - under the different designations; such as the Teacher of Teachers, Teacher Trainer for the Teaching of English (Pre-service and In- service) at the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Jagraon (Ludhiana), District Education Officer-Secondary, in the districts of Moga, Faridkot, Ropar, Mohali etc. and as the Assistant Director and Deputy Director in the Department of Education: Government of Punjab, State HO, Mohali, Chandigarh and in total served for more than 28 years and has been awarded for his glorious services.

As a leading member of the SCERT Syllabus Framing Committee, he was very instrumental in the designing of the Teaching of English syllabus for the ETT, Dip. in EE and the B.Ed classes. He brought laurels for the state by attending or participating in more than 45 national level seminars and workshops in the subject areas of Environment, Teaching of English and IELTS English from the British Council, New Delhi and the American Centre, Application of Technology for Effective Education, Education Administration etc. at the national level institutes, such as the NCERT; NIEPA, New Delhi, LBSAPA; Mussoorie, CIEFL; Hyderabad, RIE-English; Chandigarh, the British Council –English, New Delhi etc. Dr Baldev Singh has also been an active KRP- Key Recourse Person for a variety of subjects, topics and streams, such as the Teaching of English, Application of Technology in Education, RTI Act 2005, Environment Education, Adolescent Education, AIDS Education, Population Education (SISE-SCERT) etc.

He has a great passion, zeal and zest for the 21st century electronic media and has participated in more than 45 Door Darshan programmes, telecast by the Jalandhar TV Studio, All India Radio, Jalandhar and has presented about 20 English Grammar Edusat English lessons, telecast from the SEH, Mohali.  Having been very good at the English writing skill, he has established his name in the print media also. He has been outsourced Correspondent also for the English newspapers, such as ‘The Tribune’ (Ludhiana), ‘The Hindustan Times’ and ‘The Indian Express’ and has written more than 600 news items and has authored three books also on the Teaching of English. After the completion of his major career from the Department of Education: Government of Punjab, in 2018, he served as a Deputy Director, in the Department of Technical Education. From 2018 to 2021, he served as a Member of the CWC Court, Ludhiana, under the Department of Social Security- WCD, P- Chandigarh. Later on, for more than a year, upto 2022, Dr Baldev Singh served as a Member of the PLA Court- under the Punjab Government, Department of Law & Justice. He was appointed, in 2022, a Member respectively of the Juvenile Justice Board, Ludhiana and the Mediation Cell, District Consumer Commission. He served under the Anti Female Foeticide - PC & PNDT act 1994 panel also in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, CH, Jagraon (Ludhiana) for three terms. With zeal for social justice in his philosophy, he has also performed very laudable service as a Member of the Police Women Cell, SSP office, Jagraon (Ludhiana).

Now, recently, he has joined this ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga, under the Department of Medical Education (PCI) and this is Dr Baldev Singh’s sixth appointment, after retirement. On joining this Pharmacy College as the Professional Development Officer, the College Chairman Mr Parveen Garg, Dr G.D. Gupta: Director and Dr. R.K. Narang; Deputy- Principal of the College greeted Dr Baldev Singh and expressed their hope for his more dynamic dedication and energy for his new role and duty.
