Chandigarh/Jagraon, (B.S sharma)
In Punjab, cases of harassment of daughters or dowry are often pending in the esteemed courts. In the nearby village of Sheikh Daulat, a girl named Pooja accused her in-laws of evicting her after the death of her husband. According to information, Pooja Kaur was married to Jagroop Singh of village Sheikh Daulat. After marriage a child was born. Jagroop Singh was often addicted to alcohol. Due to this Jagroop Singh died a few days ago. After her death, the in-laws started harassing her. I picked up my luggage and went to Moga on my own and my in-laws locked my house in my absence. When I found out, I returned in the evening with my luggage and opened the door at night with the help of Ghalib Kalan, the post in-charge from my in-laws. Talking to the Chowki in-charge, he said that Pooja Kaur would be given her due rights and her belongings have also been kept inside.
