Chandigarh(B.S Sharma & Rana Shek Dulat)The Shiromani Akali Dal farmer reached the Chandigarh border late in the night, leaving in the morning from three placards in Punjab to protest against the new agricultural laws. Police resorted to lathicharge and released water cannons to chase down the Akalis trying to enter Chandigarh. Many activists were injured in this. The police took into custody several Akalis, including SAD president Sukhbir Badal and Harsimrat Kaur. They were released after about half an hour in custody at around 11 pm. At the same time, people faced a lot of trouble due to the jam caused by the demonstration.
